This area of the IECA website is designed to assist Etchells sailors with accessing rulings with regard to our one-design rules.

Note: this is not an exhaustive list of every interpretation ever made since the 1970's. It is a culmination of class-rule interpretations and rulings since 2017 and a place where rulings made by the Class Measurer and the ODTC will be posted, going forward from January 2021. The rules referenced are the class rules as of the date the interpretation was issued.

Please keep in mind the final sentence of the Introduction to the One-Design Class Rules: "If these rules do not say you can, then you cannot:".

Finally, Etchells sailors who are considering changing an Etchells yacht in some way that is not clearly covered in the class rules, there is a procedure you can follow in seeking clarification here.
