Etchells at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes

The race team at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes are used to some very close racing when they host the Etchells class for one of the premier regattas of the Etchells calendar, and 2012 was no exception as the fleet competed for the Sir Kenneth Preston Trophy for the 17th year.

2013 AUS - VIC Championship

With the Etchells Australian and NSW Championships now complete, the next item up on the calendar is the Entire 2103 Etchells Victorian Championship.

2009 European Championship

The International Etchells European Championship will be run on 23-25 May in Holyhead Bay, North Wales, under the joint burgees of the Royal Mersey Yacht Club and Holyhead Sailing Club.

Preceding the Europeans will be a warm-up regatta for the Northern Area Championship to be held 16-17 May in the same waters.

We offer our condolences to the family of Rob Bird, AUS 1320. Rob, a past class governor passed away suddenly on July 31.

2012 World Championship: Sydney here they come

The world’s finest one-design sailors will converge on Sydney in February 2012 for the Etchells World Championship. Conducted by Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron in conjunction with the Sydney Etchells Fleet, racing will be held on the open waters of Manly Circle.

The publication of the Notice of Race heralds for many Etchells sailors the start of the road to the Sydney Worlds, to be held from 16th to 25th February.
